Stunning, well maintained antebellum Crescent Hill home built by steamboat Captain Moses Anders circa 1848/1850. House and two car detached garage sit on 1.6 acres. Survey attached. The house and grounds known as ''Beechland'' so named for the enormous beech trees which stand on the property, has had substantial updates under the present ownership. Improvements include extensive tuckpointing, new kitchen, baths, refinished floors, updated electric, new plumbing and gutters. The cellar floor now is poured concrete, basement walls have been sealed, crawl spaces dug out for easier access, crawl space lights have been added, beams reinforced, and additional supports added. All structural work was supervised by architect, Gary Kleir, and performed by professional contractors. Family room fireplace chimney was rebuilt in 2018. Exterior walls of master bedroom bath, pantry and family room were replaced with cedar and painted in 2018. Rear porch restored in 2018. Heart of Pine floors in original part of house have been refinished and all plaster walls, except in office, have been professionally restored. Brick walls are 18 inches thick. Additional storage has been added to attic on second floor accessed by pulldown stairs in ceiling of East bedroom. Overhead storage has been added in the ceiling of the two-car detached garage. The central hall has a graceful, winding staircase with a cherry banister. All rooms have exceptionally high ceilings, high baseboards and woodwork typical of the antebellum era. Kitchen and front parlor closet floors were replaced in 2012 using Longwood Antique Woods Company. The floors were taken from a barn in Lexington Kentucky on the Hamburg Place Farm. The bead board in the kitchen is original to the house with alternating panels of ash and walnut known as Barber Pole wainscoting. Chandelier in back hall is thought to be original to the house. All fireplaces EXCEPT the ones in family room and first floor master bedroom are decorative only. The dining room fireplace has a double flue it shares with the fireplace in kitchen that is behind the kitchen cabinet/stove. There are three separately deed lots on the front side of the property which shares the boundary with Brownsboro Road.
